Scientific name: Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa. In the English language, it is known as the golden passion fruit or tropical passionfruit. But locally, in my country, we call it "mirinda". It's one of those rare fruits that is hard to grow and thrives mostly in tropical countries like Paraguay, Hawaii, New Zealand, and some Asian countries like the Philippines and Vietnam. My memory is a bit foggy on this, but it's amazing how the idea of it's tangy taste and enticing scent still lingers in my head. Just one of those things that remind you of the days gone by. Too bad, i haven't seen one of these locally. Hmmm, wonder if i can find it somewhere.
